Can I request the subtitle only?

I am also looking for subtitles to watch along with my laserdiscs. I can always pull them off the blu-ray copies but I'm curious if there would be any timing issues if I did. Any recommendations for versions to get the subs from?

There would be issues with using the blue ray versions on the LDs. Timing, placement and such.
