Not really. I've looked at the contents of the first disc. It only mentions two titles. It'll actually be 2/4/4/4/4/4/4 since there are only 26 episodes in the first series.

ah yeah I miss counted on the episode breakdown but I'm right on the number of movie versions of 2199 before we get to see the series by itself.

They are one in the same. There will be 4 episodes per disc. Vol 2 is being advertised right now for a July 27 release.

Second Blu-ray from the remake of 1974 series created by Leiji Matsumoto. Directed by Yutaka Izubuchi and characters designed by Nobuteru Yuki, this is the first anime where both are working again since the legendary OVA series "Lodoss War"! Moreover, Hideaki Anno, director of "Evangelion", will design the new series opening sequence. Music was composed by Akira Miyagawa. Includes episodes 3 through 6 with a special booklet and jacket illustrated by Nobuteru Yuki.

yes indeed that is pure awesome a modern recreation of the classic opening with a new version of the theme it brought a tear to my eye

If you look a few posts above yours it should tell you. Disc one contains 2 episodes - hence 3-6 on Vol 2. Also, earlier in this thread, I posted the titles of what is going to be on disc #1.

I saw what was posted but if Disc 1 is 2 episodes then what I was wondering is when the 2nd episode is going to be out? I thought Disc 2 will be out July but that doesn't include episode 2?

Those titles are for disc #1. Coincidentally, #2 happens to be episode 2. That is why episode 2 doesn't appear on disc 2.
